I’m becoming quite obsessed with these Seiko 6159-7010 diving watches. Released in 1975 they feature titanium cases and where highly innovative for their time. Did you know that ribbed rubber strap you see on all diving watches came from this model. It’s because the divers wet suit will contract as they go deeper, so you can tighten it up as those ribs act like springs and it won’t loose]sen as the wet suit at your wrist contracts. 

This guy designed and made a Titanium engagement ring for his girl. He made the split precisely so that it would have enough clamp force to retain the diamond. He’d sneak off and work on it on a little hobby lathe/mill in a makeshift workshop right next to the bedroom where he and his fiance slept.
