Sharpies were a subculture unique to Melbourne in the 60’s and 70’s. They were wild and aggressive and feuded with Hippies and Mods but were also quite fashion conscious with their own hairstyles (the most dodgy mullets you will ever see) clothing and tattoos. Kind of Bon Scott meets Clockwork Orange. They also had certain bands they were into, here’s Lobby Lloyde mentioned by a girl in the clip.
